How it works

1

We respond to your inquiry within 24 hours.

2

We do a comprehensive academic evaluation of the new student, beginning with a 90-minute scripted interview and culminating in a 2-page written report with a tutoring plan.

3

We offer flexible scheduling: our tutors are available in person and online throughout the week and on most weekends.

4

We take payment through SquareUp, entering your credit card information into our encrypted system, charging you only after a session takes place, and emailing you a receipt.

5

Should you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice. If a cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the session, we charge for the hour.

6

We are always available by phone to discuss with you student progress and any new developments.

For parents

I am right there with you, a parent of two—Aeneas and Athena. Like yours, my children are unique. I listen when my kids speak and follow their lead, offering tools to help them explore and succeed. I teach them to live their questions. Children today, in Portland and everywhere else, should be the pilots of their learning, with parents, teachers, and tutors as guides. We’ll be partners in the learning experience of your child. I’ll keep you up to date and include you in any decisions I make as your child’s private tutor.
